Dov Alfon

Dov Alfon (born in Sousse, Tunisia in 1961) – he was raised in Paris before his family moved to Israel on his 11th birthday. He served as an intelligence officer in Unit 8200, the IDF’s elite technological and signal intelligence arm, which heavily influences his writing. Served as the Editor-in-Chief of Haaretz from 2008 to 2011. Also held the position of chief editor at Kinneret Zmora-Bitan Dvir, Israel’s largest publishing house. In September 2020, he was appointed editor-in-chief of the major left-wing French daily newspaper Libération. He stepped down from this position in April 2026 in order to return to full-time novel-writing. His novel, A Long Night in Paris, was written in Hebrew and translated into English and French. It follows Colonel Zeev Abadi, the new head of an elite intelligence section, and his brilliant deputy Oriana Talmor, as they unravel a kidnapping at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris over a frantic 24-hour period.
