Alex J. Sinclair

Alex J. Sinclair [born 1972] is a Jewish educational thinker, author, academic and consultant, currently an adjunct lecturer at Hebrew University and education director of the Maimonides Jewish Leadership Institute. Born in North London, he lives with his family in Modi’in, Israel. Perfect Enemy (2023): In a clandestine lab beneath Tel Aviv, Israeli scientist Akiva Cohen successfully clones Adolf Hitler using old DNA samples. While Akiva intends to use the clone for a “redemptive” purpose, he is betrayed by extremists who seek to use this new Hitler to incite global terror and chaos.The story serves as a political thriller that addresses communal trauma, revenge, and the fragility of peace in the Middle East. The narrative includes a trail of murders, uneasy collaborations with Hamas, and conspiracies reaching the highest levels of the Israeli Knesset. 

Everybody’s Hero (2025) is a darkly satirical psychological thriller that explores the thin line between sociopathy and celebrity culture. The story follows Zeke Stein, a seemingly ordinary and devoted family man who secretly moonlights as a serial killer. Zeke’s unique mission—or “project”—is to hold society accountable for small moral failings. Specifically, he targets dog owners who do not clean up after their pets, viewing their neglect as a crime against communal order.  After three successful killings, Zeke’s plans are derailed when he happens to save a young woman from an attack. Overnight, he is rebranded as a national hero, appearing on talk shows and gaining public adoration. In an ironic turn, Detective Yael Waldman, a fan of Zeke’s heroic act, recruits him to help her catch the very serial killer she is hunting—not realizing the man standing beside her is her target. The novel examines “weird redemptive justice” and the human urge to rid the world of behavior that outrages or disgusts them. It serves as a critique of how media-driven fame can sanitize or completely overlook an individual’s true character.Though set in Israel, the author has noted that the themes of urban irritations and moral fragmentation are universally applicable to modern Western societies.   [Google/AI]
