Sara Paretsky

Sara Paretsky (born 1947, Ames, Iowa and raised in Kansas) – one of the most successful woman thriller authors, Paretsky is Jewish, but her protagonist – V.I. Warshawski – is not self- consciously an identifying Jew (even though Paretsky makes her halachically Jewish by giving her an Italian Jewish mother and a Polish Catholic father).
