Richard Fliegel (born 1954 in Mt. Vernon, NY and raised in the Bronx) - an American mystery novelist, television writer, and academic administrator. He is best known for his “Allerton Avenue Precinct” (in Bronx, NY) detective series featuring the duo of Shelly Lowenkopf and Homer Greely. Outside of fiction, he serves as the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs at the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences.
