Mishka Ben-David

Mishka Ben-David (born 1952 in Givat Shmuel, Israel) is a prominent Israeli author and former senior Mossad officer. He served in the Mossad for 12 years (1987–1999) in intelligence and field command roles. He is famously known for his involvement in the 1997 failed assassination attempt on Hamas leader Khaled Mashal in Jordan, where he carried the antidote that ultimately saved Mashal’s life under orders from his commanders. He holds a PhD in Hebrew Literature from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he wrote his dissertation on Israeli war novels. He has authored over 20 books, including best-selling espionage thrillers such as Duet in Beirut, The Beluga File, and Final Stop, Algiers.
